[HeavyMetalHeaven] Ronnie James Dio, Paul Rodgers, Megadeth, Hail, Rob Zombie, Anthrax, and tons more hard rock and heavy metal news

Legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH , RAINBOW) was diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer and is currently receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic. His wife/manager Wendy Dio has issued the following update on Ronnie's condition:

"Since my last update, we have been back and forth to Houston three times for tests and chemo treatments, an emergency run to St. Joseph's for another blood clot, an ultrasound and another cat scan. We met with Dr. Ajani, Ronnie's oncologist, on Monday, and he was very pleased with the treatment so far. Some tumors have gone and some have shrunk. He says we have a long road to travel, but we are on the right path.

"Going back and forth to Houston is getting old, with all the cancelled and delayed flights and some of the rude Continental staff, the same boring food at the hotel (I think we have eaten everything on their horrible menu!), but…when we get a good report from the doctor, it is all worth it.

"The only food Ronnie says he can taste is Indian curry; everything tastes like metal (HEAVY metal?) because of the chemo. We did, however, have a nice breakfast with Carmen [a DIO fan Ronnie met at M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre on his second trip] and his mother on Friday. He is still waiting for his bone marrow transplant.

"I am so sorry if I have upset any of our friends for not returning calls or emails, but please understand that it is so draining for me to go over and over to everyone about Ronnie's progress. This is why I thought that if I wrote an update once a month, everyone can know of Ronnie's progress at the same time.

"The fan club just delivered a huge sack of mail, and we have been reading all the wonderful cards and letters you have all sent.

"Thank you all so much — it keeps our spirits up knowing you all love Ronnie so much and wish him well.

"Ronnie and I have a great support system: Simon, who does so much; Geezer and Gloria (she has been my strength; every day she listens to me, whether I am happy or not); Sheila and Jacqui, friends for 25 years who would go anywhere or do anything for Ronnie or I; Mike Carden, a cancer survivor who is always available to talk to; Rudy, Vinny, Doug, Scott, Big Scott, Lois and Wyn; my colleagues at work — Marchele, Lynne, Carmen, Anthony and Diana; Dr. Mena, Dr. Chu and our wonderful Dr. Kapoor, who is available 24/7 for us and spent his whole Sunday day off with us at the emergency room; and, of course Dr. Ajani, who mixes his magic cocktail of chemo and gives us hope.

"Ronnie takes a walk everyday in the park and keeps busy with his music and watching sports . He was really mad that he missed the Super Bowl because we had to fly back to Houston on that Sunday, as his chemo started at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. He is in real good spirits and will be going to the studio next week to listen to the mix of the HEAVEN & HELL DVD that will be released later this year. He is itching to get back on tour, and with the good reports and all of your prayers and good energy, I think he is going to make it."

According to a posting on the BLACK SABBATH fan site Black-Sabbath.com, fans can send get-well cards to Ronnie James Dio through the official fan club address:

Dio Fan Club
12400 Ventura Boulevard, Suite 624
Studio City , CA
91604

Additionally, if you'd like to send an email to Ronnie, you can do so via getwellronnie@black-sabbath.com. After a short time, Black-Sabbath.com webmaster Joe Siegler will print them out and pass them over to Wendy Dio.

Dio, 67, has performed with ELF, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, and his own band DIO. Other musical projects include the collective fundraiser "Hear 'n Aid". He is widely hailed as one of the most powerful singers in heavy metal, renowned for his consistently powerful voice and for popularizing the "devil's horns" hand gesture in metal culture. He is currently involved with HEAVEN & HELL, a project which also includes Iommi and other former BLACK SABBATH bandmates Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice. Their first studio album, "The Devil You Know", was released on April 28, 2009.

Lately, there have been some rumors that Paul Rodgers might join AEROSMITH while
singer Steven Tyler recovers from his various ailments. However, Paul, who has
created groups like BAD COMPANY, FREE and THE FIRM with Jimmy Page, told VH1
Radio Networks' Dave Basner he prefers making new music as opposed to filling in
for someone.

"If you look at my history, my history is that of forming bands rather than
joining them," Rodgers said. "I tend to want to form bands and then create new
music within them. QUEEN was an exception and we joined forces because it just
seemed to work when we played together. But as far as AEROSMITH [is concerned],
I don't think I want to be joining bands and Steven Tyler is very much still
alive. I would like to see them solve their problems and put the band together
'cause they're such a great band."

When asked if there is any truth to Classic Rock magazine's recent report that
AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry asked Paul Rodgers if he would be interested in
replacing Steven Tyler in AEROSMITH, Joe told Classic Rock Revisited, "I mean,
obviously that would be a thought, because he is one of my favorite singers of
all time, and I got a chance to meet him at Classic Rock Awards [in London] a
couple of months ago. But I think that he's a really… him being English from
that earlier generation, I don't think that it would work. I mean, it's more
than just somebody who can sing. I would love to do â€" and I probably will â€"
do some tracks with him. As a matter of fact, I think THE JOE PERRY PROJECT is
gonna open a tour with them in April in England. The original BAD COMPANY is
gonna get back together and they asked me to open the show. So we will be
playing together, but I don't think that he'll be… We're young kids to him. I
just don't think it's the
right chemistry. Technically, I know he's got the chops â€" I mean, I know he
can sing anything he wants â€" but I think that it's a little bit more than just
if he can sing the songs."

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has released an audio message in which he
comments on the the departure of bassist James Lomenzo and the return of the
band's original bassist, David Ellefson.

"First, I wanna say thank you to James Lomenzo for his years of faithful and
consistent service to MEGADETH and to me and to the fans," Mustaine says.

"James, I love you, and I wish you well in everything that you do.

"Now, the most exciting thing I've had to say for quite some time...

"Like I said at our web site, I had a huge announcement to make.... It's David
Ellefson returning back to his home, to his roots, to where his partner has been
waiting to one day jam with him again, and that wait for me is now over.

"We rehearsed and it sounded great. Dave even played on the new track that we
recorded for this new project that's coming up â€" I'll be making an
announcement soon about what that is. And it just sounded great. He looked
great.

"We did a photo shoot.

"We just had an absolutely wonderful time together, and we just knew it was
right.

"I don't know how long this is gonna last â€" I hope it's permanent. If it's
just for the [upcoming] 'Rust In Peace' [20th-anniversary tour], I wanna thank
David for committing to do this. And I wanna encourage all of you fans, go get
your tickets now, because if you miss this, you may never see it again.

"I don't know... you may be the kind of person that's gonna be able to sit
around when you're 70 and say, 'Yeah, well, I missed MEGADETH twice with David
Ellefson.' That's OK. I'm not that kind of person. But that's what makes the
world go around.

"I hope you take my lead today and you go and spend some time alone reflecting
on people that you may need to forgive or that you may need their forgiveness,
and see what happens, man.

"I feel so great, and I know so many of you feel great, too. And this is all
because I was willing to take my hat in my hand and talk with my brother and to
work things out."
Jon Wiederhorn of AOL's Noisecreep conducted an interview earlier today
(Wednesday, February 10) with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine about the departure
of bassist James Lomenzo and the return of the band's original bassist, David
Ellefson. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Noisecreep: A lot of people thought Hell would freeze over before you played
with Dave Ellefson again. How did you two bury the hatchet?

Mustaine: When I became a Christian, my life really changed. Unlike a lot of
people who say that they're Christian and really are hypoChristians, I'm not a
guy that goes around, tells people how to live their life and then lives a
double life behind closed doors. So, when I was forgiven I realized I needed to
forgive. We had that incident with the lawsuit, and I forgave Dave for that.
Several years ago when I went out to Phoenix on a business trip, I asked him if
we could go out to dinner. He said, "Yeah." And we sat down at California Pizza
Kitchen and had some food and talked a little bit. I told him, "I still love
you." And he said, "I love you, too." And I put that behind me, because he's a
little brother to me. So I'm looking at this as an opportunity to do the right
thing for Dave and show him that I am a good leader and we are a great band, and
we do belong playing together.

Noisecreep: What triggered your decision to ask him to rejoin?

Mustaine: We were at the NAMM show, and Dean [guitars] had a party and asked if
I would play, and I never do those things. So I said, "Well, I'll think about
it," and then I went home, because I wanted to surprise them by coming back
later. But everybody thought I wasn't gonna play, so they all kind of fucked
off. And once I did say, "Oh, yeah, I'm playing," they were scrambling around
going, "Oh, my God, what are we gonna do now?" So I kind of shot myself in the
foot with that one.

We couldn't find James or [guitarist] Chris [Broderick], and we were trying to
find a bass player. James finally showed up, but my guitar tech approached David
Ellefson, and he said yeah, he would love to do it. So that really opened the
door. And since I had still looked at Dave with respect and appreciation for
what he'd done for me and MEGADETH and our fans all around the world, and I
still had tremendous respect for his talent, it made the decision pretty easy.

So a couple days ago I asked him to come back. Now, I know a lot of haters are
gonna say, "How could [Ellefson] do that?" But anybody that really sees how hard
I'm trying to live my life differently right now â€" and I'm really trying hard
â€" this is just another one of the little things that you get. It's a perk for
me to have one of my best friends back.

Noisecreep: Was James Lomenzo getting ready to leave MEGADETH when you asked
Ellefson to join?

Mustaine: James had given us several years of faithful quality service in the
bass and backup vocal position, and when this presented itself, it was hard to
make the decision to tell him that we were going to do what was right for all of
us, because I care so much about James. From a business point of view, Dave's my
bassist. Always has been, always will be. Everybody that's been in the bass
position for me, they've been brothers and I love them for it, but it's Dave's
gig.

With James, he's a super-talented guy, he's a wonderful person and I know he's
gonna do great at whatever he does next. He's played with some of the greatest
players in the world â€" excluding me. You look at his repertoire with Ozzy and
Zakk Wylde, and what he did with David Lee Roth and WHITE LION. Those guys were
enormous back in the day. So James has had a very illustrious career, and I
don't think by any means the world has seen the last of James. And frankly, if I
have any side projects coming up in the future, I want to be able to call up
James and say, "You know what, dude? I need killer bass player with a great
sense of humor to come do a couple of bass parts for me. Are you game?" And have
him not say, "Fuck you."

Former MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo has issued the following statement
regarding his departure from the band:

"My heart is full with your kindness and well wishes. This is the richest part
of my years with the mighty MEGADETH.

"I'm truly excited about the two Daves [guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and
returning bassist Dave Ellefson] getting back together. I think it will be great
for MEGADETH fans.

"Anyone who knows me knows I love doing all kinds of things musically and
otherwise, so I'm excited for what's ahead and very grateful for all the great
music, fantastic shows and the many friends and fans I've come to know over the
past four years.

"Stay tuned and I'll let you know what's next when it's next!"

Lomenzo, who previously played with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and WHITE LION, joined
MEGADETH in February 2006 following the departure of James MacDonough (ex-ICED
EARTH).

Vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, BEYOND FEAR, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ICED
EARTH), who co-founded the metal supergroup HAIL! last year with bassist David
Ellefson (F5, MEGADETH), has released the following statement regarding
Ellefson's return to MEGADETH:

"I just want to say good luck to David... I hope everything works out for him.
This is where he belongs. To me, MEGADETH is not MEGADETH without Mr.
Ellefson!!"

Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, Ellefson stated about his return to MEGADETH
after an eight-year absence, "It literally happened over the weekend. And I can
hardly believe it myself. There was clearly gonna be a change in the lineup,
because James Lomenzo was leaving. Dave [Mustaine, MEGADETH mainman] and I
talked on the phone, and all the feuds, all the arguments we've been having over
the years just melted away. It just goes to show what direct contact can
achieve!"

Regarding how the whole thing came about, Ellefson said, "Obviously, I have no
clue what happened within the band. But I got a text from Shawn [Drover, drums]
and it just said, 'If ever there was a time for you and Dave to talk, now is
it.' It's one of those messages you act on immediately. Typically of MEGADETH,
things then happened big and fast.

"In all honesty, talking to Dave again was wonderful. It was the right thing at
the right time, done in the right spirit."

HAIL!, the all-star band whose most recent incarnation included bassist David
Ellefson (MEGADETH), guitarist Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA), vocalist Tim "Ripper"
Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) and newly appointed
chameleon drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER), has issued the following update:

"Big news hit the metal world this week as our bassist and friend, David
Ellefson, agreed to rejoin MEGADETH for the 'Rust In Peace' tour.

"Although saddened by our loss of David on upcoming HAIL! dates, we wish him the
best and share in his happiness and success.

"Over the years of his absence from MEGADETH, something always seemed missing
from all sides and this provides a wonderful opportunity for everybody to mend
the past and move onto the future. What a great chance for younger fans who
never got to see David play in MEGADETH and for the older ones to re-live fond
memories.

"This reunion serves to reinforce the very spirit of HAIL! in that we all share
a common bond of a bigger metal family. Despite differences, our love, respect
and enjoyment of this music and lifestyle not only survives, but thrives.

"The HAIL! fist logo was meant to show how a united fist is stronger than five
separate fingers. Symbolically, each finger represents each of us as individual
people, musicans, bands, countries and fans while the fist shows the power and
strength of our unity.

"Our metal unity had never been stronger and this year's MEGADETH reunion, 'Big
Four' and 'American Carnage' tours all serve to prove that together we still
stand proud and true.

"Although this announcement has been impacted by the recent news that Ellefson
has agreed to rejoin MEGADETH for their upcoming 'Rust In Peace' tour, we are
pleased to announce that HAIL! are scheduled to play the following shows:

March 17 - Istanbul, Turkey
March 18 - Eskisehir, Turkey
March 19 - Ankara, Turkey
March 20 - Izmir, Turkey
March 24 - Tallin, Estonia
March 25 - Helsinki, Finland
March 26 - Lahti, Finland
March 27 - Kouvola, Finland
March 28 - Imatra, Finland

"Despite David's absence on this run, HAIL! will continue in full force and his
fill-in will be announced shortly.

"Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you all
soon."

HAIL! played its first two U.S. shows last month â€" on Tuesday, January 26 at

"Hellbilly Deluxe 2" hit stores on February 2 via Roadrunner Records' Loud &

Rob Zombie will take part in this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival
tour, which is scheduled to kick off on July 10 in San Bernardino, California.

Filmmaker and musician Rob Zombie will bring his unique style of filmmaking to
the streets of Miami on an episode of "CSI: Miami", to be broadcast Monday,
March 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the CBS television network. The episode
began production last month and is Zombie's television directorial debut.

Check out a couple of photos from the set below.

In the episode, the CSI team discovers that a listening device has been covertly
planted at a crime scene, capturing a terrifying soundtrack of the murder and,
possibly, the voice of the killer. However, when it's revealed the bug was
planted by the team's own Jesse Cardoza, the State's Attorney tosses the taped
evidence and uncovers accusations of evidence tampering by Jesse on a murder
case in Los Angeles. With the integrity of his team at stake, Horatio Caine and
Eric Delko travel to Los Angeles to dig into that murder and clear Jesse's name.
While in Los Angeles, Horatio find himself face to face with secrets from
Jesse's past and a dangerous element within the LAPD.

"As writers, we were really pushing to create an interesting backdrop that could
lend to Rob Zombie's visual style," says Marc Dube, co-executive producer. "We
thought opening the episode at a macabre party, with Miami attendees all wearing
stylized masks (a la 'Eyes Wide Shut') would be a fun kick-off point for Rob do
to what he does best â€" conveying the cruel and creepy underbelly of humanity."

"I am very excited to be working on a show that has such an intense and unique
visual angle on the classic crime drama formula and look forward to putting my
own bizarre stamp on the world of 'CSI: Miami'," says Zombie.

A prolific musician, Zombie has multiple gold and platinum records, sales of
over 15 million albums worldwide, and has directed over 25 music videos. His
next album, "Hellbilly Deluxe 2", will be released on February 2. His
re-imagining of "Halloween" claimed the highest-grossing Labor Day weekend
opening ever, followed by the 2009 success "Halloween 2". His film
accomplishments also include the critically acclaimed "The Devil's Rejects" and
the cult classic "House of 1000 Corpses". Zombie has made a distinct mark in the
music and film worlds with his uniquely sinister point of view that has resulted
in success in both arenas.

"CSI: Miami" ranks among the top 20 programs, averaging 13.6 million viewers and
continues to dominate its Monday (10:00-11:00 p.m.) time period in viewers and
key demographics.

ANTHRAX was supposed to release its new album, tentatively titled "Worship
Music", last October. However, the set has been delayed indefinitely following
the departure of singer Dan Nelson in July 2009 and the return of John Bush, who
fronted the band between 1992 and 2005. Guitarist Scott Ian spoke to VH1 Radio
Networks' Dave Basner about the record's current status. "It's all up in the
air," Ian said. "We're kind of in a standby mode right now. John is committed to
touring, we're going to Australia to next week for two weeks and we've got all
the Sonisphere [European festival appearances] in the summer, but it's just kind
of been like baby steps as far as moving forward creatively and working on this
album again."

One issue with the effort is that it was recorded with Nelson, who is believed
to have contributed vocal melodies and lyrics to the effort. Now that John Bush
is fronting the band again, what does that mean for the album?

"It wouldn't be a case at this point of John just coming in and re-singing the
record," Ian explained. "That's not going to happen. If John sings on this
album, then we're going to go back in and re-write because John Bush would then
be committing to it and we would go back in and re-write stuff the way we did
just like 'Sound of White Noise' [1993] or 'Stomp 442' [1995] or 'We've Come For
You All' [2003]. That's how it would have to be, so we're just kind of in a
standby mode waiting to see how John feels about it and what he wants to do.
Maybe after these Australia dates we'll have a better idea on what we're going
to do with that."

ANTHRAX kick off the Australia dates on February 20 in Melbourne.

Way Too Loud! recently conducted an interview with bassist Jack Gibson of veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Way Too Loud!: Something I'm wondering about the new album, are the songs pretty long like they were on "The Atrocity Exhibition… Exhibit A"?

Jack: There's a couple that are long, and a couple that are shorter too. Song kind of write themselves. Anyone who creates music or art, and even people who write stories — it takes on its own life. If it's an epic tune, it's a crime to cut it short thinking it could be on the radio or whatever. Especially in todays day and age, radio and video don't mean shit. Radio has never meant anything to a band like us. Maybe now that there's XM satellite radio with real metal stations. We really wouldn't unwrite a song so it could be on the radio. The songs are just the way they come out. The new album has a couple short sweet ones, and I think one of 'em is 10 fucking minutes long!

Way Too Loud!: Is there a theme running through the album?

Jack: The first album was "The Atrocity Exhibition… Exhibit A", and this one is "The Human Condition… Exhibit B". Lyrically, it has to do with the depravity of man, how fucked up things have gotten, and how perverted in the dark corners of everything from religion to politics.

Way Too Loud!: What's it like working with [producer] Andy Sneap again?

Jack: It's our fifth album with him, and he's mixed some of our live stuff too. He's almost part of our band, and a good friend of ours. We've known him since '97. He loves our band, he loves our creativity, and when he comes out he's really part of what happens. We don't want o make a record with anybody else because we have a system with him. He knows what we're going for, and it just works out perfect for us.

Way Too Loud!: Do you feel like the band has been reinvigorated since 2004? You guys have been super busy since then.

Jack: Right before "Tempo of the Damned" (2004), when [former EXODUS vocalist Paul] Baloff died, it hit Gary, Rick [Hunolt, guitars, no longer in the band] and Tom really hard, and they got deeper into their drug use at the time, then all of the sudden they woke up and got clean off the dope, and Gary instantly turned into a guitar hero, and started walking in with songs, and ever since then we have been reinvigorated. He started writing cool, relevant material again.

Way Too Loud!: Do you ever pay attention to anything that goes on at message boards, or Blabbermouth? There's a lot of smack talk.

Jack: I think it's pretty funny! Sometimes it's a little rough reading somebody that's really railing on you, but for the most part they're pretty fucking creative, and it's pretty funny. I know we've had some issues with some people making videos mocking us, and while it stings, it's still pretty fucking funny too! It's the kind of thing you have to deal with. If you put yourself in the public like that, then you have to deal with peoples negative opinions as well. It's just like being a movie star or a politician. If you put yourself out there, you have to take the good with the bad. That's just the way it is. It's an excellent filter for people to get rid of bullshit because people get to judge what they say, and I think it's good because it gets you right in touch with the fans.
Former KISS and current GRAND FUNK RAILROAD guitarist Bruce Kulick's
long-awaited third solo album, "BK3", sold around 1,700 copies in the United
States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 12 on the Top New
Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new
and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100
of The Billboard 200.

"BK3" was released in Europe on January 29 via Frontiers Records and in North
America on February 2 through Twenty 4 Records/Rocket Science Ventures. The
first single from the album was released on January 12. The track "Hand Of The
King", featuring Nick Simmons (son of KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons), is a
digital-only release available at all online music stores, including iTunes.

If you ever play Six Degrees of Bruce Kulick, the guitarist's résumé will keep
you happily busy for hours. Having been tapped by artists as diverse as Meat
Loaf and Kanye West, the veteran axeman's boundless creative energy permeates
his third solo LP, "BK3". In the works for nearly six years and produced by
Jeremy Rubolino, "BK3" delivers explosive hard rock arrangements and addictive
pop melodies that honor both Kulick's singular past and bright future. And then
there's the jaw-dropping guest list, boasting members of KISS, THE KNACK, TOTO,
MÖTLEY CRÜE and more.

After getting his solo feet wet with 2001's "Audio Dog" and 2003's
"Transformer", Kulick â€" the often unheralded driving force on 12 years of
classic KISS records, from 1984's "Animalize" to 1992's "Revenge" â€" assembled
his own rock 'n' roll dream team. The roster: KISS icon Gene Simmons and
up-and-coming son Nick (each vocally appearing separately), longtime friend John
Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE, Kulick's own UNION), KNACK mainman Doug Fieger, TOTO axe
authoritarian Steve Lukather, EDGUY power metal stalwart Tobias Sammet and even
current KISS drummer Eric Singer.

MASTERPLAN, the melodic power metal band led by former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow, has set "Time To Be King" as the title of its new album, due on April 16. A single will precede the full-length CD in March.

MASTERPLAN vocalist Jorn Lande told Germany's Rock Hard magazine last year about his renewed collaboration with MASTERPLAN, "We never had problems with each other, but professionally, we decided for to go separate ways for a while. . . I am happy that we are . . . working together again — mainly because the combination of MASTERPLAN's music and my singing [is] truly something special."

Lande left MASTERPLAN in May 2006, citing "musical differences" between the vocalist and the rest of the band. During the songwriting process for the group's third album, it became increasingly apparent that the other members of the band had different visions and plans for the group's musical direction. While Jorn allegedly wanted MASTERPLAN to follow a more melodic path, the rest of the band apparently wanted to return to the metallic roots of their debut album.

Vocalist Mike DiMeo (RIOT, THE LIZARDS) announced his departure from MASTERPLAN in January 2009 after recording just one studio album with the group — 2007's "MK II".

Lande's latest solo album, "Spirit Black", was released in June 2009 via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to 2008's "Lonely Are The Brave" CD — which entered the national chart in Norway at No. 28 and Sweden at No. 42 — was described by Jorn as "a solid and defined album that will shake the classic metal world and hammer the future Jorn legacy in stone!"

Jorn Lande cut his teeth with such internationally renowned acts as ARK, MILLENIUM, VAGABOND and THE SNAKES.

REO SPEEDWAGON, PAT BENATAR and BUCKCHERRY have been added to the Moondance Jam schedule for 2010, joining the previously-announced LYNYRD SKYNYRD, who will headline the final night of this year's festival.

Now the country's largest classic rock festival, this year's event will take place July 14-17, 2010 in Walker, Minnesota.

REO SPEEDWAGON returns to Walker as the 30th anniversary of its classic "Hi Infidelity" album approaches later this year. The band still plays many of the hits from that iconic record along with its other classics.

BENATAR, with husband Neil Giraldo on guitar and original drummer Myron Grombacher now back in the band, has been playing steadily over the years with a greatest hits set that satisfies even the most ardent fans.

BUCKCHERRY makes its first Walker appearance with its brand of sleazy rock slotting perfectly with the classic rock stars from the '70s and '80s who usually appear here.

Tickets are now available in a variety of packages. Concert goers can purchase Rockstar All Access, three-day VIP, three-day general admission, weekend packages and single day admission, as well as camping sites and parking passes by contacting the Jam office in Walker.

An official announcement concerning the entire festival lineup is due sometime later this month. Expect 15 bands to pack the main stage over three days and many more side stage acts to be added in the coming months.

The Moondance Jam has been held at the same location in Walker since 1992. This year marks the 19th edition of the festival, which was started by resident Bill Bieloh. The Moondance Jam and its sister festival, Moondance Jamming Country Fest, help bring thousands of music fans to the Walker area every summer. Its bucolic location, situated near a huge lake on a site located three hours northwest of Minneapolis, houses thousands of camping sites during the festivals, and has been cited by many as to why they return year after year to Walker for the shows.

Tickets are available now at www.moondancejam.com or by calling 1-877-MOONJAM.

In 2007, HIM, which is Ville Valo (vocals), Mige (bass), Linde (guitar), Burton
(keyboards), and Gas (drums), supported METALLICA in Europe before joining the
LINKIN PARK-headlined Projekt Revolution tour across America, and headlined its
own U.S. theater tour. The band's 2005 album, "Dark Light", has the distinction

Former MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13 has revealed that the American horror
punk band is in talks to reunite and record a new studio album.

In February 2010, while preparing to embark on a solo tour of Australia,
Wednesday 13 spoke with The Drum Media (see article scan below), saying, "Right
now, it's the worst week, and I keep getting asked that question, 'What are my
future plans? The next step after this?' It's kind of hard to say. We're
possibly going to do another WEDNESDAY record, record it in the summer and have
it out around Halloween. Or the other option is... we're in talks right now to
do another MURDERDOLLS album. So right now I don't know which of the two is
going to happen. Of course, if MURDERDOLLS is possible, then we have to do that
â€" it's gotta be the number one priority." He adds, "It's just talks right now.
The whole MURDERDOLLS thing, it's the band that me and Joey [Jordison, SLIPKNOT
drummer] put together, and right now we're having the same conversations that we
were having in the very beginning of the band, 'What direction, what kind of
music are we doing this
time?' All the small talk stuff like that, so it's far away from getting in
that room with the full band or something like that. Right now we're just trying
to get a game plan together."

Formed in 2002, MURDERDOLLS released one album in the form of "Beyond the Valley
of the Murderdolls", which came out via Roadrunner Records. The band had limited
initial success in the United States, though its album and singles charted well
in the United Kingdom and around the same time the group picked up a strong
following in Japan.

MURDERDOLLS' sound is made up of their shared influences, which include punk
rock and 1970s hard rock acts such as KISS and ALICE COOPER. The band also
shares an interest in horror movies, from which they take images and references.

Ex-MURDERDOLLS drummer Ben Graves has joined SINTANIC, the new project launched
by former FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and W.A.S.P. guitarist Darrell Roberts. "The
material is starting to sound good, tight and Ben is really the perfect drummer
for this band," Darrell says. "The guy hits like a fucking truck and is a show
within himself." He adds, "I hope people dig this shit because we are having a
blast creating it!"

SINTANIC is in rehearsal mode now and hopes to hit the road this spring/summer.
The band has also just finished mixing and mastering two brand new tracks â€"
"If I'd Only" and "The Murder Of Mozart" â€" which are available for streaming
at www.myspace.com/sintanic.

SINTANIC's forthcoming debut album is being recorded at Darrell's home studio as
well as The Steakhouse in North Hollywood, California with producer/engineer
Brent Woods.

"Starting something new is kinda scary and super-exciting at the same time,"
Darrell previously stated. "It's like standing at the bottom of Mt. Everest
wearing flip flops!"

After years of touring the world with some of the biggest bands on the planet,
Roberts is finally doing things his way. "I mean no disrespect to anyone I have
worked with in the past because I regret nothing!" he said. "It was invaluable,
a learning experience and I thank you all for the opportunity, but it was really
time to let my creative side roam free and record my music."

The first three songs from SINTANIC are available for streaming on the project's
MySpace page.

The Warriors of Metal Fest III - Open Air has announced the headliners for this
summer's festival, to be held Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26, 2010 at
Ross County Fairgrounds in Chillicothe, Ohio.

On Friday, OMEN, the legendary Dallas, Texas-based metal band formed in 1983 and
largely credited as an originator of the power metal genre, will headline the
first day of the Fest. George Call, OMEN's lead vocalist, commented that "it's
been several years since we've played this far north and we are ready to make
this Fest a unique experience for our fans by introducing them to a number of
brand new songs from our upcoming album."

On Saturday CAGE and ASKA will co-headline the second day of the Fest. These two
bands are in hot demand each year by European festivals and will now bring their
brands of bone-crushing, head-banging, neck-snapping and face-melting metal to
the hungry fans of the Ohio region.

In a February 3 interview with Metalhead Radio's DJ MetalGod, the powerful and
talented CAGE vocalist, Sean Peck, announced that they "will be playing a number
of never-before-heard new songs for our fans to make Warriors of Metal Fest III
- Open Air a very special experience."

CAGE made a huge impression on the true metal fans of Atlanta in 2009 by raising
the roof on the 10th anniversary ProgPower USA festival, one of the premier
metal festivals in the the country.

ASKA was a headliner at Warriors of Metal Fest II â€" Open Air in 2009, and was
a favorite to return this year. ASKA plays numerous European festivals each
year, and has entertained American troops in more than 37 countries as a former
Department of Defense band. George Call, the founder, vocalist and guitarist of
ASKA, commented that, "we received such a warm welcome from the Fest promoters
and enthusiastic support from the Ohio metal fans last year during Warriors of
Metal Fest II that we decided back then to announce that we will be returning to
Ohio this year for another cheer, and this time we are ready to unleash a number
of brand new ASKA songs from our soon-to-be-released sixth album, right along
with our usual crowd pleasing classics."

Although ASKA and OMEN share George Call on vocal duties and Danny White on the
drums, the two bands rarely share Fest billings, so Warriors of Metal Fest III -
Open Air claims a very rare and special billing. The only other opportunity for
fans to catch these two bands together is at 2010's Headbangers Open Air in
Germany. ASKA and CAGE will also share billing on the 2010 SwordBrothers Metal
Fest IX in Germany.

exclusive videogame "God of War III". The EP, titled "God of War: Blood &

of War III Ultimate Edition", and will also feature four other previously
unreleased songs from Roadrunner artists â€" TRIVIUM, DREAM THEATER OPETH and

challenges, an exclusive Kratos skin, and a limited-edition art book.

The "God of War III Ultimate Edition" will retail for $99.99 (MSRP).

part of this game in any fashion is amazing! Let the rivers flow red with blood;

ENTOMBED's latest album, "Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments", was released in the U.S. on July 31, 2007 via Candlelight/Threeman Recordings. Mastering duties were handled by Soren Elofsson at Cosmos Mastering in Stockholm, Sweden.
