According to a posting on KISS' official web site, the band's appearance on this past Saturday's (February 27) episode of the German talk show "Wetten, Dass..?" had the highest number of viewers on German television that night, beating both Olympic coverage and "German Superstar".

An article from the German newspaper Dortmund Ruhr Nachrichten regarding the show's ratings success can be viewed below (courtesy of KissOnline.com).

As previously reported, KISS' new album, "Sonic Boom ", will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl in five colors — purple, red, green, blue and black. The LP will be packaged in a full-color gatefold jacket and it iwll include lyrics on the inner sleeve and an exclusive 22" x 33" color poster.

"Sonic Boom" entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 2. This marked the band's highest-charting LP ever.

KISS has notched eight Top 10 albums, according to Billboard.com. Its previous highest-charting set was 1998's "Psycho Circus", which debuted and peaked at No. 3 with 110,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group's other high-charting sets include 1975's "Alive!" (No. 9), 1977's "Love Gun" (No. 4) and 1992's "Revenge" (No. 6).

The closing of the Vancouver Olympics on Sunday is expected to be more light-hearted than the show that opened the Games on Feb. 12.
The big farewell celebration may even poke fun at Canada, according to Vancouver Organizing Committee head John Furlong.
Furlong promised some "pretty amazing Canadian talent" will make sure the party rocks.
Reports indicate Michael Bublé, Diana Krall and rock band Rush may all perform at the closing, which gets underway at 5:30 p.m. local time.
Those names haven't been confirmed, but some features of the closing can be counted on — the march of athletes into BC Place, the playing of the national anthem of Greece, the extinguishing of the Olympic flame.
Praise from Russian
Meanwhile, the head of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Organizing Committee is hoping the games in Russia can match what he saw in Vancouver.
Plans for the 2014 Games are well in hand, but Dmitri Chernyshenko said Vancouver has raised the bar.
The atmosphere of the Vancouver Games has been "electric," he said.
"It's atmosphere of friendship and fun. That is what we, as the next organizers, want to reach in four years and, of course, with our Russian flavour, with the Russian hospitality."
But 2010 will be a tough act to follow, Chernyshenko said.
"John Furlong and his wonderful team who worked together with IOC, they staged a magnificent and memorable Games and … we at Sochi, we are the next, so the bar has been well and truly raised. "
Chernyshenko said some venues should be ready two years before the games, even though everything is being built from scratch.
Harper vows to support athletes
As the Games wind down, Canada was on the verge of setting a record in medals. As of Sunday morning, it was tied with the highest number of gold medals — 13 — of any Olympics and had reached a personal best of 25 medals in all.
Athletes say the Own the Podium program helped them compete against the world, but concerns have been raised about the future of the program.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper, however, is a believer.
"We're going to, obviously, continue to support our world-class athletes," he said.
"I think nothing breeds success like success, so I'd be very surprised — not withstanding all the economic problems out there — I'd be very surprised if you see loss of sponsorship and that kind of thing. I think people will continue to support … and government will continue to support [athletes]."
Harper said Canada's results have been "fantastic," and the next generation of athletes will have to work hard to stay on top.

GUNS N' ROSES frontman and sole original member Axl Rose has released the following statement via Twitlonger.com, a related Twitter site where one can post messages longer than 140 characters:

"IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!

"There are NO new GUNS N' ROSES shows added to our current onsale itinerary dated as of February 25. This means NO SHOWS in Panama, Costa Rica or Guatemala regardless of ANYONE's claims or ticket sales. These dates or ANY additional dates anywhere other than those already previously announced and on sale before February 25 will NOT BE HONORED. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS until further notice here on this my personal Twitter account.

"If you have purchased tickets to ANY suggested new dates being offered after February 25, please contact your place of purchase for refunds.

"We apologize for any inconvenience."

Rose recently revealed via Twitter that GUNS N' ROSES is now managed by Doc McGhee, who has handled the careers of BON JOVI, MÖTLEY CRÜE and KISS throughout the years. GN'R recently parted ways with powerhouse manager Irving Azoff, who helped to get the band's 2008 album, "Chinese Democracy", finally released after a 15-year wait.

GUNS N' ROSES will next head to South America for another round of shows there. A full U.S. tour has yet to be announced.

Video footage of GUNS N' ROSES' second late-night secret show in a tiny private venue during New York Fashion Week — which took place at the Rose Bar in the wee hours of Valentine's Day night (February 14) in front of a celebrity-filled crowd of 150 people — can be viewed below. Photos of the concert are available at this location.

The Pulse of Radio reports: Don't ever expect Rob Zombie to jump on the current
trend of playing an entire album from start to finish in concert. According to
Noisecreep, the singer and filmmaker doesn't even like to play more than a
handful of new songs live, saying, "You can only play so many â€" three, four
songs tops off a new record because the more time that goes by, the more songs
you have that people expect to hear. Nothing's worse than when I've gone to see
bands and they're like, 'We're going to play our entire new album from start to
finish!' (You're like) 'Terrific. Thanks, douchebags.'"

In fact, Zombie says there's songs on his new "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" album that
fans will probably never hear live: "We'll never play 'The Man Who Laughs' live,
ever. We'll never play 'Burn', ever . . . I don't like that song that much."

Zombie played two cuts from the new album, "What?" and "Sick Bubblegum" on his
fall 2009 tour, and says his band is also rehearsing "Werewolf, Baby!" and "Mars
Needs Women" for his next round of live dates.

Zombie will next hit the road with ALICE COOPER for a short run of seven North
American shows, beginning on April 26 in Winnipeg, Canada.

Following the dates with COOPER, Zombie will co-headline the Rockstar Energy
Mayhem Tour with KORN, beginning on July 10 in Devore, California.

A Zombie-directed episode of "CSI: Miami" airs on CBS-TV Monday night (March 1)
at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Following their eagerly awaited return to the live stage at the almost-sold-out
Gramercy Theatre in New York City, reformed heavy metal legends ACCEPT will be
heading to Europe to perform special shows in carefully handpicked venues in
various European capitals!

ACCEPT has chosen to play these publicity concerts in small, intimate settings
to get close to its longtime fans.

After a decade-long absence, ACCEPT wants to make this a special "thank you" to
its European fans, who will be able to attend specially arranged meet-and-greet
sessions at each of these shows. In addition, the band will be available for
autograph sessions, photo opportunities and interviews during this short trek.

Confirmed dates so far are as follows:

May 08 - New York, NY - Gramercy Theater
May 11 - Vilnius, Lithuania - Forum Palace
May 14 - Moscow, Russia - B1 Maximum
May 15 - St. Petersburg, Russia - Lensoveta Theater
May 26 - London, UK - Islington O2 Academy *

* Not officially confirmed by the band

The remaining dates and locations will be announced within the next few days.

Rumors surrounding these shows have started to pop up all over the Internet due
to the exceptionally high anticipation around the world to hear and see the new
ACCEPT lineup â€" featuring the band's latest addition, vocalist Mark Tornillo
(ex-TT QUICK) â€" perform.

In an effort to keep the arrangements a surprise for the fans, ACCEPT has had a
difficult time lining up these concerts. Only one or two shows per country will
be finalized and not all nations will be included as ACCEPT has a very limited
amount of time available before it focuses on promoting its upcoming comeback
album.

Following the CD's release and the intimate European "fan-focused" shows,
preparations for a full-fledged world tour will start this summer.

"We can't wait to go out and play again," said bassist Peter Baltes. "Just
because [former ACCEPT singer] Udo Dirkschneider isn't available to take part in
the reunion doesn't mean we'll have to sit idle any longer. We feel Mark is the
perfect fit. Mark is an experienced veteran singer who is aware of the ACCEPT
legacy and his voice fits the sound of ACCEPT perfectly.

"Wolf [Hoffmann, guitar] and I have always been the songwriting team â€" most of
the classic ACCEPT tunes were written that way; together with Deaffy, a.k.a.
Gaby Hoffmann, as a lyricist."

ACCEPT recently completed recording its new album, tentatively titled "Blood Of
Nations", at Backstage Studio in Derbyshire, England with acclaimed British
producer and SABBAT guitarist Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY,
NEVERMORE). The CD â€" which will mark the recording debut of Tornillo â€" will
include around 14 tracks and be released before the summer via an
as-yet-undetermined record label. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include
"The Abyss", "Shades Of Death", "Blood Of Nations", "Pandemic" and "Teutonic
Terror".

BLABBERMOUTH.NET in December uploaded exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from
the recording sessions for the new ACCEPT album. The six-and-a-half-minute clip,
which includes interview footage with Sneap and members of the band, as well as
audio samples of the group's new material, can be viewed below.

Regarding Tornillo's addition to ACCEPT, Hoffmann previously said, "It all
happened in minutes. Peter and I were working on some tunes in a studio in New
Jersey. Somebody suggested we give this guy Mark a call to see if he would join
us on vocals. So when he arrived we started jamming on some old ACCEPT tunes â€"
just for fun. As soon as Mark started singing we looked at each other and
realized the impossible just happened: we found a new voice for ACCEPT! The
timing could not have been better! Now or never... We are re-energized and
excited..."

TT QUICK was a popular club band during the 1980s in the New York and New Jersey
area and was known for the guitar work of David Dipietro and the powerful vocals
of Mark Tornillo. Dipietro's skills were especially singled out as he had given
lessons to both Zakk Wylde of the OZZY OSBOURNE band and SKID ROW's Dave Sabo.

TT QUICK disbanded and later reunited sporadically and released a few more
albums, including a live CD from one of their reunion gigs ("Thrown Together
Live") and a studio effort, "Ink", which came out in 2000.

ACCEPT 2010 is:

Wolf Hoffmann: Guitar
Peter Baltes: Bass
Herman Frank: Guitar
Mark Tornillo: Vocals
Stefan Schwarzmann: Drums

California rockers TESLA are scheduled to release a new live album, appropriately titled "Alive In Europe!", in Europe on April 23 via Frontiers Records.

The track listing for the effort is as follows:

01. Forever More
02. I Wanna Live
03. Modern Day Cowboy
04. Heaven's Trail
05. What A Shame
06. Shine Away
07. Love Song
08. What You Give
09. The Way It Is
10. Breakin' Fee
11. Hang Tough
12. So What!
13. Signs
14. Lil Suzie
15. Into The Now

In a recent interview with The Breakdown Room's Brian Heaton, TESLA bassist Brian Wheat that the band was working on two separate live albums — the first consisting of live recordings solely from TESLA's shows overseas, and the second featuring songs performed and recorded in the United States.

"I could have just done one big live record, but I wanted the European fans to have their own piece of TESLA," Wheat said. "We completely ignored them from 1991 to 2006, although we go there a lot now. I just wanted to say, 'Hey, look, this one is for you.'"

According to Wheat, "Alive In Europe!" was to be a more "hits-oriented" collection of songs, whereas its U.S. counterpart would likely focus on some of TESLA's more obscure cuts.

"There will be some overlap, but not much," Wheat said. "Americans got the DVD, 'Comin' Atacha Live 2008', and that had a lot of hits. So the American [live album] will have stuff we haven't played in a long time or played ever."

This past weekend, Bay Area Metal Scene conducted an interview with MEGADETH guitarist Chris Broderick. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Bay Area Metal Scene: You guys have a lot of awesome tours this year. Obviously, later this year you're going to make history at the "Big Four" tour. I have to ask, since you're in one of the most legendary thrash bands of all time, and fans up here are ravenous when it comes to METALLICA , TESTAMENT and EXODUS. What's your take on the thrash scene these days?

Chris: You know, I don't feel like I've really got a good beat on it. It seems like it's doing well because it's got a bit of a resurgence, especially from the younger population. But I don't know if it's a passing phase or if it's because there are so many iconic bands that came from thrash and the Bay Area and all of that. I really don't know where it's going or where it will be.

Bay Area Metal Scene: I've heard you do some new stuff on guitar on "Endgame" that I haven't heard you play before, per se. Like those whammy bends with the big dive-bar harmonics that Dimebag used to do [listen to the track, "Endgame"]. Do you find yourself experimenting more on guitar these days, or are you melding your style into a more traditional MEGADETH sound?

Chris: Some of the sounds that you've heard are quite odd for somebody to bring up because some of the tremolo-bar work that I did was really more my own, although definitely influenced by Dimebag and Jason Becker and all of the old Shrapnel [records] shredders like that. But my main premise going into "Endgame" was to try and emulate and really kind of fit into that MEGADETH sound as much as possible. That's how I was trying to alter my playing — much more pentatonics and flat-five blues that I associate with MEGADETH solos.

Bay Area Metal Scene: You list Marty Friedman on your website as someone that has influenced your playing, which is cool because you've done a great job of capturing Marty's solos as they were originally played. What is it about his style in particular that influenced you?

Chris: Well, I would say that what it really came from was from listening to Jason Becker and then [Marty's] playing in "Dragon's Kiss" is really great. When you listen to Marty, he has such a unique sound. The generalized term for it is that Middle Eastern or Eastern sound, and as soon as you hear one of his solos you say, "Oh, that's Marty!" That's one of the best things that any player or soloist can have is their own sound and their own style, and that's one thing that really influenced me.

Bay Area Metal Scene: Do you see a trend or particular skill that gives guitar players an edge? For instance, I've heard some guitar players say that jazz modes are the future. Or is that question completely off the wall?

Chris: I don't think there's anything in particular that I would say gives you an edge over anyone else. The more and more I play, the more I say that you should develop your own sound and style and develop as an individual. You're making a statement with your instrument. I think the best thing you can do is enjoy what you're doing because you'll learn better and you'll learn more and you'll be happy doing it. Instead of having an attitude like, "Oh, I have to have an edge!" Really that's what you should do — just have a good time.

Bay Area Metal Scene: What kind of stuff keeps you on your toes these days or makes you work to be a better musician?

Chris: Just hearing more, to tell you the truth. When I listen to things I pick-up more detail now than I used to, and I think that'll be the same case in a few years from now. I'll think, "I never heard how that vibrato was produced at that particular moment" or "I never heard how that picking style produced that sound against the string", and then I'll want to emulate that close-up. The more you hear and the more detail you pick-up, not only with your own playing but with other players, then the better you become at making that kind of sound and making that playing happen. The simple answer to that is, "becoming a better listener."

To celebrate the release of their latest album, "The Guessing Game", veteran
British doom/stoner band CATHEDRAL has announced six live shows in late
April/early May 2010. Taking in England, Scotland and both Southern and Northern
Ireland, these dates will represent the group's first headlining gigs since the
"Doomed Trinity" package of 2006.

Keeping in the CATHEDRAL tradition of delivering the best possible touring
package it can, the band has announced the addition of Tokyo's heaviest sons of
SABBATH, CHURCH OF MISERY, and the Orthodox-doom-meets-true-metal powerhouse
that is Indianapolis's THE GATES OF SLUMBER.

CATHEDRAL tour dates:

Apr. 26 - Manchester, UK - Academy 3
Apr. 27 - Dublin, IRE - The Village
Apr. 28 - Belfast, IRE - Limelight
Apr. 29 - London, UK - ULU
Apr. 30 - Glasgow, UK - King Tut's
May 01 - Birmingham, UK - Academy 2

CATHEDRAL will release its ninth full-length album and second for the Nuclear
Blast label, "The Guessing Game", on March 26 in Europe and on April 20 in North
America.

Produced once again by Warren Riker (DOWN, CROWBAR), who also took care of the
band's last effort, "The Garden Of Unearthly Delights", in 2005, "The Guessing
Game" is one wild and unpredictable ride with one of the most unique and
exciting acts the metal genre has got to offer! For the first time in the band's
history, they have recorded a double album that boasts thirteen tracks offering
a colourful variety of musical styles and lyrical themes: "Requiem For The
Voiceless", for example, is pure, down 'n' out crawling doom â€" and the first
animal-rights song in doom metal history! Then you'll get classic stomping and
grooving CATHEDRAL material with the catchy "Painting In The Dark", plus many
songs wading through psychedelic and proggy waters â€" especially "Funeral Of
Dreams", featuring none other than Alison O' Donnell of MELLOW CANDLE ('70s
Irish folk rock band) fame doing guest vocals.

It comes as no surprise that this time around CATHEDRAL went as far as to
include exotic instrumentation such as Mellotron and Sitar. And pay special
attention to the lyrics of "Journeys Into Jade": Lee Dorrian and Co. are
celebrating 20 years of CATHEDRAL with this one!

And what a way to celebrate this anniversary: traditional CATHEDRAL cover artist
Dave Patchett came up with one of his finest artworks in the band's history,
mirroring the themes and musical quirkiness of the album itself.

"The Guessing Game" track listing:

Disc 1:

01. Immaculate Misconception (02:24)
02. Funeral Of Dreams (08:28)
03. Painting In The Dark (06:18)
04. Death Of An Anarchist (07:12)
05. The Guessing Game (03:08)
06. Edwige's Eyes (07:08)
07. Cats, Incense, Candles & Wine (06:01)

06. Journey Into Jade (10:36)

Last year, Night Of The Vinyl Dead Records released CATHEDRAL's "Caravan Beyond
Redemption" album on limited-edition double splatter vinyl with a gatefold
cover. The LP, which was originally released by Earache in 1998, was limited to
500 copies.

U.K-based metallers POWER QUEST will enter Remaster Studio in Vicenza, Italy on
July 5 with producer Nick Savio to begin recording their fifth, as-yet- untitled
album for a late 2010 release via Napalm Records. The band states, "This
fantastic studio was where the majority of the [last POWER QUEST album] 'Master
of Illusion' was recorded."

Adds band leader Steve Williams: "It's going to be great to be back in Italy and
to be working with Nick again and I'm expecting to run into one or two very
familiar faces during the recording process!"

In the meantime, POWER QUEST will demo three new tracks for Napalm at the end of
March at Aubitt Studios in Southampton. The following songs are set for
inclusion in the recordings: "Sacrifice", "Time to Burn" and "Rising Anew".

POWER QUEST recently announced its new lineup. It is as follows:

Pete Morten - Vocals
Andy Midgley - Gutar
Ben Randall - Guitar
Paul Finnie - Bass
Steve Williams - Keyboards
Rich Smith - Drums

POWER QUEST's latest album, "Master of Illusion", was released in 2008 via
Napalm Records/Avalon Marquee (Japan). Guest musicians on the CD include
keyboardist Richard West from the U.K. progressive metal band THRESHOLD, Jorn
Viggo Lofstad from the Norwegian power metal act PAGAN'S MIND and FOURWAYKILL
singer Chris Neighbour.

PRETTY WILD and SKULL DAZE have been added to the list of bands who will
contribute to "Reborn In Sleaze: A Tribute To Dave Lepard", a special
re-recording of CRASHDIET's "Rest In Sleaze" LP to pay tribute to singer David
Hellman (a.k.a. Dave Lepard), who committed suicide in January 2006 at the age
of 25.

So far the following acts have been confirmed to take part in the project:

BULLETRAIN
CYANIDE 4
JOHNNY BURNING
KILLER KLOWN
PEEP SHOW
PRETTY WILD
SEX SLAVES
SKULL DAZE

The tribute album will be released sometime in 2010 via Street Symphonies
Records.

Street Symphonies Records is the only Italian record label dedicated exclusively
to glam/sleaze/hard rock.

For more information, visit www.streetsymphonies.com.

CRASHDIET will release its third album, "Generation Wild", on April 14 through
Gain/Sony Music. The 10-song CD was helmed by RamPac, the production and
songwriting team formed by Johan Ramström and Patrik Magnusson, in Gröndal,
Sweden and was mixed by Tobias Lindell.

Hellman was found dead on January 20, 2006 at his apartment in the Swedish city
of Uppsala, north of Stockholm. It was reported in several places that he hanged
himself, although this was never officially confirmed.

"Rest in Sleaze" entered the Swedish national album chart at position No. 12
back in 2005.

For more information on Dave's passing, click here.

CRASHDIET last year announced the addition of Simon "Simme" Cruz from the
Stockholm act JAILBAIT as the group's new lead singer.

The band parted ways with its last vocalist, the Finland-based H. Olliver
Twisted, in July 2008.

German thrashers DEW-SCENTED have been confirmed for this year's edition of the
Elsrock festival, set to take place August 28, 2010 in Rijssen, Netherlands.

The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

AGNOSTIC FRONT
DEW-SCENTED
DREAM EVIL
HAIL OF BULLETS
LIZZY BORDEN
NAPALM DEATH
ONSLAUGHT
PESTILENCE
STATE:CHAOS

Italian extreme epic metal act STORMLORD has parted ways with guitarist
Pierangelo Giglioni and has replaced him with Andrea Angelini (STICK IT OUT,
WITHATE). The group states, "We know [Andrea] since a long time, we like his
bands and we already had a sort of collaboration back in 2002, on Francesco
[Bucci; bass] and David [Folchitto; drums] side-project, OUTBREAK. Andrea has
been on stage with us for more that a year now, he is highly motivated and ready
to measure his talent with some new STORMLORD music."

STORMLORD's fourth full-length album, "Mare Nostrum", was released in May 2008
via Locomotive Records. The CD was recorded at Giuseppe Orlando's Outer Sound
Studios (NECRODEATH, NOVEMBRE, KLIMT 1918) and was mastered at Finnvox Studios
by Mika Jussila (HIM, CHILDREN OF BODOM, NIGHTWISH, SENTENCED).

Commented the band: "After almost two years of touring promotion for 'Mare
Nostrum', we're about to stop the live activity for a while.

"The response to our 2008 album has been outstanding and we had the chance to
perform a lot of concerts in Europe and even in Africa. Now it's time for us to
work harder on the new songs. That's why we’re gonna play four last shows
before to dig ourselves in the rehearsal room in order to complete the
songwriting for our fifth album.

"The stuff we already have sounds damn good: innovative yet loyal to the epic
Mediterranean style of 'Mare Nostrum'.

"We hope to enter the recording studio between the end of this year and the
beginning of 2011."

"The Legacy â€" 17 Years of Extreme Epic Metal", a double "best-of" collection
from STORMLORD, was released on February 22, 2007 through Scarlet Records. The
first CD contains 13 songs spanning the band's 17-year career as of one of
Europe's most respected metal merchants, including the rare EP "Under the Sign
of the Sword", originally released in 1997. The second CD contains a full live
show recorded in Montreal on June 14, 2006 during the band's Canadian tour.

Scarlet Records released STORMLORD's first official DVD, "The Battle of Quebec
City: Live in Canada", in July 2007 in Europe.

German epic metallers ATLANTEAN KODEX and Italian label Cruz Del Sur Music have
signed a deal for the worldwide release of the band's upcoming debut album, "The
Golden Bough".

Rooted deeply in the sound of old MANOWAR, Viking-era BATHORY and classic
1980s-metal, ATLANTEAN KODEX's "Pnakotic Demos" EP has sold close to 2000 copies
and has been praised by critics as one of the best epic metal releases ever.
With festival appearances at renowned events like Keep it True XII, Up the
Hammers or Hammer of Doom, ATLANTEAN KODEX has also made a name for itself as an
intense live band which "never fails to deliver the steel."

Commented guitar player Manuel Trummer: "I couldn't have imagined anyone else
than Cruz del Sur to release 'The Golden Bough'. We‘re highly impressed by the
work label owner Enrico did in the past and we're honoured to be on the same
label like some of our favorite bands such as WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, SLOUGH FEG,
TWISTED TOWER DIRE and BATTLEROAR."

Cruz Del Sur Music label owner Enrico Leccese added: "I am very glad we have the
opportunity of working together with ATLANTEAN KODEX. I am definitely impressed
by the enthusiasm, the strength and motivation these guys have shown so far;
that's exactly what we're looking for in a band. And the music contained in 'The
Golden Bough' is simply fantastic!"

"The Golden Bough" is scheduled for a release in September. A deluxe vinyl
edition will be made available by renowned German high-quality vinyl label Iron
Kodex.

Drummer Matt C. has commented on his recent departure from the German/Greek
metal band MYSTIC PROPHECY, with whom he played on a recent European tour with
STRATOVARIUS. He said, "First of all, many thanks for all the kind words I've
recieved since the MYSTIC PROPHECY tour, I had a great time touring with the
MYSTIC PROPHECY guys and we will all be staying touch. They are a great band, an
even better bunch of lads and if I am free in the future, and they need me, I'll
be more than happy to jump back on the stool.

"I have recieved emails expressing concern over the 'reasons' why I could not
stay and I would like to clarify this for those who have asked.

"My position was only ever temporary and I cannot stay with the guys as I
currently have a very busy recording schedule and commitments with both SOLSIKK
and CHAOSANCT.

"As for the 'private reasons,' I am actually getting married, so please, no more
stupid questions about trips to rehab or this unfounded crap about me being
arrested (which is actually my favourite). None of it is true. Thanks for the
concern, but all is cool."

MYSTIC PROPHECY is seeking a drummer "who feels confident to play their material
and is seriously interested in becoming their new member," according to a press
release. Interested parties can contact the band at martin@deathsquad.de or
rdlia@aol.com.

"Fireangel", the sixth album from the MYSTIC PROPHECY, entered the German Media
Control chart at position No. 77. Released on May 22, 2009 via Massacre Records,
the follow-up to 2007's "Satanic Curses" was recorded at Prophecy Studios and
was mixed in Sweden under the direction of Fredrik Nordström (DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH
ENEMY, IN FLAMES) and R.D. Liapakis (FIREWIND, CHASTAIN, ELDRITCH).

Italy's THE SECRET has inked a deal with Southern Lord Recordings. The band will
enter Godcity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts in April with producer Kurt Ballou
to being recording its new album, "Solve et Coagula", which is described in a
press release as "[THE SECRET's] sonic interpretation of a total loss of faith
in social system, religion, personal redemption and every institution. . . .
[THE SECRET's] sound is relentless, uncompromising and extremely lethal.
Anti-melody, pro-cacophony."

After their 2003 Goodfellow Records debut album, "Luce", THE SECRET went through
countless lineup changes and found its new incarnation in 2008 when the band's
second full-length, "Disintoxication", was released.

U.S. metal heavyweights KILLING MACHINE are set to make their return after a break of four years. The group's current lineup includes founding member and guitarist Peter Scheithauer (ex-TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY, BELLADONA) alongside Csaba Zvekan on vocals, Jon Dette (ex-TESTAMENT, SLAYER) on drums. A new bass player will be announced soon to replace David Ellefson, who recently rejoined MEGADETH.

Talking about the next chapter of KILLING MACHINE, Scheithauer said, "I am really excited about this new page in KILLING MACHINE's odyssey. For once I took my time writing the new CD. Knowing that Csaba had finally joined the band meant there were no set time limits to work to.

"I've had the idea for a few years to have Csaba in KILLING MACHINE but distance prohibited it. Same with Jon —we've tried several times to get things together. These two guys have so much to show, [and] I can't wait to hit the road with them.

"And the new bass player? He's a perfect match. That's all I can say about him at the moment.

"I've been working constantly on the album and you always think that the new CD is the best it can be, but when a major producer feels the same way, you tend to think you are on the right track.

"I can't wait to tell you what's in store but we're taking everything one step at a time. In the meantime we're so happy to be coming to play in Europe this summer."

Preliminary work on a new album has already begun, with various songs at different stages of completion. Two new songs — "Skull and Bone" and "Hell Raiser" — can be heard at the KILLING MACHINE MySpace page.

The band is in the process of securing a new record deal with a view to a release towards the end of the year.

Details of live dates, including some high-profile shows for the summer, are expected to be announced soon.

KILLING MACHINE has released two albums, the self-titled effort in 2000 via Candlelight Records and the critically acclaimed "Metalmorphis" in 2006, via Mausoleum Records. The two LPs featured a multitude of musicians, including David Ellefson (MEGADETH), Stet Howland (W.A.S.P.) and Mike Vescera (OBSESSION, LOUDNESS)

Unashamedly wearing their heavy metal roots on their leather-studded sleeves, KILLING MACHINE "combine the classic metal feel of the past with the fresh aggression of the present," according to a press release. "Thunderous bass lines, pounding drums and explosive riffs blend with distinct heavy, melodic vocals to create driving and memorable songs."

Bassist Eric Avery has quit JANE'S ADDICTION.

After JANE'S reunited for a third time in late 2008 — with Avery on board for the first time since the band originally broke up in 1991 — and toured last spring with NINE INCH NAILS, the group began feuding once again as it tried to record new music .

Now, according to Avery, the fun has come to an end — at least for him.

"That's it," he writes on his Twitter profile. "With equal parts regret and relief, the JANE'S ADDICTION experiment is at an end."

Avery did not participate in the 1997 and 2001 reunions, but was replaced at different points by Flea, Martyn LeNoble and Chris Chaney.

JANE'S ADDICTION frontman Perry Farrell recently told Spinner that it's "very likely" the band will have a new member following Avery's departure. The three remaining original members — Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins — have begun writing new music with a "mystery bassist," who has been identified by as VELVET REVOLVER and ex-GUNS N' ROSES bass player Duff McKagan. Songs for the first new album under the JANE'S moniker since 2003's "Strays" are starting to come together. "We've got one great song so far called 'Top Dog'," Farrell told Spinner.

JANE'S ADDICTION just completed its participation in Australia's Soundwave Festival, which wrapped up earlier tonight (Monday, March 1) in Perth.

U.K.'s Terrorizer.com recently conducted an interview with vocalist Tomi Joutsen of Finnish metallers AMORPHIS. A couple of excerpts from the chat folloe below.

Terrorizer.com: You have a new DVD on the horizon, celebrating 20 years of AMORPHIS. How did this idea come about?

Tomi Joutsen: "I think the main reason is that there is a new DVD with the band is that it's like one complete DVD, whereas before there is only music videos, no live things at all, so we wanted to make DVD with live shows. We recorded one show in Germany and one show here in Finland, so there's two shows. and there will be also an hour documentary about the history of the band so its a really nice package for our fans."

Terrorizer.com: Did you have a big professional production at the concert? That must have been fun/exciting to play in front of so many cameras and cranes? Did it take a lot of preparation?

Tomi Joutsen: "Yeah, the show in Finland is really professional, but Germany show is more like just festival cameras and it's still good quality. We practiced the day before the show so it wasn't so horrible during DVD shoot, but, of course, you want to make a good show when there's lots of cameras and lots of money and lots of people working, so I think we worked really well and I've seen some clips of the show and it's really nice."

Terrorizer.com: You only joined the band in 2005, and you've spoken to Terrorizer before about how you were a fan of the band before that, so was making this documentary interesting for you, to get an insight into AMORPHIS before you became their vocalist?

Tomi Joutsen: "It was really nice because it was the first time I met Oppu [Laine, 1990-2000] the former bass player. I've seen the guy like couple of times but we haven't spoken or anything, so this was the first time I met him really and of course it was really interesting to hear the stories and see old video tapes with bands like ENTOMBED and bands like that and there are lots of funny things happening and nice memories. The only thing I missed is that we didn't have opportunity to speak with Pasi [Koskinen, 1995-2004] the former singer, so I was quite disappointed about that but you can't have it all, ha ha. Also, I think it's not like a 'taking of money from the fans' thing. This is more like good quality and it's really nice. The documentary part is probably the most important thing we did, really."

Terrorizer.com: So, the DVD is out in the summer, it's called "Forging The Land Of Thousand Lakes". What are you favourite memories of making it now it's done and dusted?

Tomi Joutsen: "I think my favorite was the filming of the documentary, because it was like a family meeting in a way and it was so nice to see past members, to see how big this band have been in their life and for me this is a really big part of my life too. So it was like a family thing. Also shooting the DVD was really nice because there were loads of people who enjoyed the show and that was a really big relief after that. This is like something for all the fans, I think they've been waiting for this DVD for many years so this is for them. Of course, this is a good promotion for the band with the 20th anniversary year and we are not releasing any new songs, so this will keep us busy."

Terrorizer.com: So no new album on the horizon?

Tomi Joutsen: "Yes, I think we will, we have some songs already but we haven't practiced them, though, I think we are recording the album at the end of this year. We have no ideas about the lyrics, we just have some riffs and melodies and stuff like that, but I think we will continue with the Karelian feel."

French black metallers GLORIOR BELLI have recruited drummer G. (FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, DEATHROW, MACABRE OMEN) to lay down the tracks on the band's new record, "The Full Intrepid Experience of Light", to be released later this year.

GLORIOR BELLI recently uploaded a new video clip and sample taken from "The Full Intrepid Experience Of Light". The follow-up to 2008's "Meet Us Of The Southern Sign" is described in a press release as a "a unique glimpse into an honest experience for the sake of truth, exploring the very essence of 'light' defined by the Demiurge's most virulent adversary!"

GLORIOR BELLI mainman Julien (a.k.a. Infestvvs) previously stated, "After (too) many changes and (too) many mistakes from my side, I have decided to go on my own way and do what I should have done in the the very first place with GLORIOR BELLI: A SOLO project, helped by a handful of musicians for LIVE-related matters.

"I want to make sure this isn't going to 'hurt' the people we have recruited lately, as there was absolutely nothing wrong with them, besides the fact that I AM a control freak.

"So please note that this is on ME only. The solitary path is the only one I know and the only one that gives satisfaction at the end of the road for me."

GLORIOR BELLI in May 2009 cancelled its participation in the "CIII" tour with U.S. black metal legends ABSU, Austin-based AVERSE SEFIRA and Los Angeles-based SOTHIS. According to a statement released by GLORIOR BELLI, the band "couldn't acquire the appropriate papers" in time for the tour and therefore had "no other choice but to pull out."

GLORIOR BELLI's third full-length album, "Meet Us Of The Southern Sign", was released in North America on June 2, 2009 via Candlelight Records.
