[HeavyMetalHeaven] Ronnie James Dio, Scorpions, Sonisphere Festival, Guns N Roses, Megadeth, ZZ Top, Blaze Bayley, John Corabi, Dragonforce, Orange Goblin, and tons more

Legendary singer Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN & HELL, ex-BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW) was diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer recently and is currently receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic. His wife/manager Wendy Dio has issued the following update on his condition:

"Well, it has been a very exhausting month after all the neverending tests in Los Angeles, we flew to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and as soon as we arrived, we got a call from the MD Anderson Hospital that they had an appointment for us with the doctor we originally wanted, so we then flew to Houston to the clinic, and of course MORE tests, but Ronnie finished receiving his first chemo treatment on Wednesday, and all is going very well.

I would like to thank Tony Martell from the T.J. Martell Foundation, Dr. Stuart Aaronson from Mount Sinai, Lindsay Brown and Mike Carden from Eagle Records, and our very own Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, for all your help in getting us into MD Anderson, and also our friends Geezer and Gloria Butler, who flew to Houston to be with Ronnie while he had his chemo.

Ronnie and I are totally overwhelmed by the amount of well wishes that we have received from friends and fans - we are reading them all. Some make us laugh, some make us cry, but all of them are so filled with love that it gives us so much support and makes Ronnie even more determined to fight this battle and win. Thank you all for the positive energy and prayers."

Black-sabbath.com has posted information about where fans can send Ronnie James Dio their get-well cards and well-wishes.

Cards and items can be sent through the official fan club address here:

Polish web site Plejada conducted an interview with guitarist Rudolf Schenker and vocalist Klaus Meine of German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS when the band performed in Zabrze, Poland on December 5, 2009. Watch the chat below.

SCORPIONS have set "Sting In The Tail" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in early 2010. The CD is being recorded at a studio in Hannover, Germany with Swedish producers Mikael "Nord" Andersson and Martin Hansen (the team behind THE RASMUS' "Dead Letters" CD).

Commented Rudolf: "After 'Humanity - Hour 1', which was more in the concept-album [vein], talking about the problems in the world, we said, 'OK, we talked about all these things which [were] happening and now we don't wanna talk again about problems, now we wanna party. We're going back to the roots of the band.

"We have great rock songs — fantastic rock songs — we have great ballads... The mixture if 10 percent ballads and the rest is up-tempo and mid-tempo [material]. And I think we have a great team of people working for us, producer team from Sweden — they're great people — and we're doing this recording in Stockholm and in Hannover, where my studio is.

"It looks great. We have a fantastic sound, because my studio is very good for guitars, and this time we're looking very much also to bring the guitars up, and, of course, with the great voice of Klaus, with the right melodies, giving the right vibe — the typical SCORPIONS sound."

Added Klaus: "We recorded the last album in the U.S. This has a more European kind of feel, I think, working in Germany and in Sweden. And we're looking very much forward to releasing this in the spring and we can't wait to play the songs live on stage.

"We tried to find this spontaneous moment — not to overproduce things and to keep things really fresh.

"There are a lot of great songs on this record. And we always had our fans in mind [when putting the material together], especially the tour next year, because we hope many [of the new] songs we can [perform live] on the road."

Although SCORPIONS' new CD is tentatively due in Europe in March, a U.S. release date has yet to be pinned down. "Azoff Management [which represents SCORPIONS] is currently working on the [record] deal," guitarist Mathias Jabs recently told Scorps News. "Simultaneous release is up to the record companies."

He added, "The weak dollar has been a reason to delay the U.S. release in order to avoid bad imports in the 'rest' of the world, for all non-American bands in recent years."

SCORPIONS recently extended their record deal with Ariola, which is part of the international media conglomerate Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

2009 was the year of the SCORPIONS: they received the German lifetime achievement ECHO, collected many other awards, and undertook a grand tour through Russia, the U.S. and Europe. However, it is 2010 that will set a milestone for the career of the most successful international rock band from Germany. The SCORPIONS will be touring the world for the next two years and performing in the largest venues and stadiums that cross their path. The mammoth tour will be launched for the first time in many years in Germany. "It was important for us to give our fans a chance to celebrate a never-to-forget party with us," said band founder/guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Vocalist Klaus Meine added, "2010 is going to be a very special year for the SCORPIONS, so it is an especially good feeling to be able to start this tour at home."

To top it all off, the SCORPIONS are planning on releasing a sensational statement this January at a press conference.

The performances in Germany will be followed by concerts in the U.S., South America, Asia, Russia and various countries in Europe.

SCORPIONS' brand new DVD , "Amazonia - Live In The Jungle" — a live recording of the SCORPIONS concerts in Manaus and Recife, Brazil — is in stores now.

The band's last CD, "Humanity - Hour 1", was produced by James Michael and co-produced by songwriter/producer Desmond Child, who has worked with such high-profile pop/rock artists as AEROSMITH, BON JOVI, ALICE COOPER , KISS, RICKY MARTIN, CHER, MICHAEL BOLTON and BONNIE TYLER.

Schenker released his official German-language autobiography, "Rock Your Life", in Germany on October 14. An English-language version is also planned. More details will be revealed soon.

Trudy Green, a former manager for Def Leppard, has filed a lawsuit against the iconic eighties band for breach of oral contract, fraud, and intentional interference of a contract among others. Green is also suing the accountant for Def Leppard among others.
Read The Court Papers Here
The court documents state that Green had been a manager for the band since 2005. Trouble arose when the band was going to go on tour in 2008.
"Plaintiff was not paid its earned commissions on this tour pursuant to the Agreement and, after the Band had been paid, spent the next several months working with Def Leppard's accountants and other professionals to determine the amount of commissions due, and to ultimately receive payment," the documents said. Green is seeking at least $700,000 in damages, and is seeking a jury trial.
Green believes she is owed $75,000 in commissions for the 2008 tour, $85,725 for commissions from merchandise sales, and $551,250 in commissions for the 2009 US tour.

GUNS N' ROSES will spend the next eight days playing additional shows in Korea and Japan before returning home. A 13-date Canadian trek is on tap for January 2010, followed by South American shows in March and April.

The band has not booked any U.S. dates yet.

GUNS N' ROSES' last world tour, in 2006 and 2007, took in 60 shows in 26 countries and was the band's first full tour since 1993.

In addition to sole original member Rose, the current lineup of the band includes guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

"Chinese Democracy" was released in November 2008 as a Best Buy exclusive, 17 years after the last all-original GUNS sets, "Use Your Illusion I" and "II". The album was a commercial disappointment, selling less than one million copies in the U.S. (according to Nielsen SoundScan) despite the long wait.

MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine , Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick have each issued the following MySpace updates:

Mustaine: "We were able to start planning our tour dates for 2010 and we will be announcing our next South American, European, and Pacific Rim dates in the near future. At the very least in the next week, or so. Please stay tuned, and check back over the next few days, because we are sure to have some great news for you!"

Drover: "About half way to Reno, Nevada as I write this-Probably about a 16 hour or so total drive, which suites me just fine. This gives me a chance to get caught up on email's, etc. as well as saying a quick hello to you here on ourMegadeth Messageboard and wish you well. Things are moving along smoothly out here and with only 2 shows remaining on this tour leg, I can now reflect on alot of great times on this American tour. It's always good to play shows with my friends in Machine Head, and I am enjoying watching both Suicide Silence, Warbringer and Arcanium when I get a chance. I am looking forward to being home for the holiday season with my family and friends, and with that said, I do wish the best to all of you."

Broderick: "There is always something cool about every city we visit and the thing that struck me about Billings, MT was that the crowd was going crazy (people crowd surfing, mosh pits, people on other people's shoulders, and shouting at the top of their lungs, almost fanatical). This was the last thing I expected from this laid back city, so was there a reason? and the only thing I could think of was that, they don't seem to get many concerts here and I also heard that a lot get canceled. I hope we get the chance to come back here soon (preferably in the summer when it's warm Ahahah) so play for them again."

ZZ TOP, now celebrating its 40th anniversary will, for the first time, be performing for audiences in South America.

The band, whose original founding lineup of Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard is still very much intact, is in the process of booking South American dates in May of this coming year. They have actually announced three confirmed shows as follows:

May
18 - Santiago, Chile - Movistar Arena
20 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - Via Funchal
21 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - Via Funchal

The band has been on an international tear over the course of 2009 as they made tour stops in such far-flung locations as Singapore, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria as well as London's Wembley Arena.

Billy Gibbons spoke of the forthcoming South American tour in remarks conveyed by the band's press officer: "We've been singing a song called 'I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide' for quite a few years. We might have to adjust the lyrics to reflect the larger world view that these upcoming dates in Chile and Brazil reflect."

In other ZZ Top news, the band's site reports:

"Fans, prepare yourselves for a rocking 2010! ZZ Top will headline next year's High Voltage Fesitval in London, performing on July 24th. It's the rock event of 2010 — a two-day festival featuring the very best in classic rock , progressive rock and metal, with over 30 acts over 3 stages."

Tickets are available here.

On October 20th, Eagle Rock Entertainment, through its wholly-owned Eagle Vision subsidiary, released ZZ TOP's Double Down Live, the first historic concert performance ever to be approved for release by the band. Clocking in at just under two hours, this double dose disc delivers twenty-eight years of hard rock, blues, and boogie – ZZ Top style!

Disc One, filmed in 1980, is dubbed Definitely Then, and is packed with 22 early ZZ Top classics from their Tres Hombres and Fandango! albums, including: 'La Grange', 'Tush', 'Cheap Sunglasses', 'Tube Snake Boogie', and more, many of which remain in their live set to this day. This concert was captured at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany for the Rockpalast TV series. The concert took place hot on the heels of the release, 30 years ago, of their classic Deguello album (it features 9 of the 10 songs from it). The show found ZZ Top in the era prior to the band's discovery of sequencers and synthesizers and epitomized the down 'n' dirty take no prisoners attitude of "that lil' ol' band from Texas" nickname. To this day, this disc is a true best of ZZ Top in the seventies.

Disc Two, subtitled Almost Now, was shot during their European tour in 2008, includes 11 performances, interview clips, and backstage footage to create the ultimate ZZ Top on the road movie.

One of the most instantly recognizable sounds in rock music, ZZ Top's signature brand of boogie 'n' blues has earned them massive success, including an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Since their 1969 inception in Houston, Texas, the trio of singer/guitarist/frontman Billy F Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard has spent almost 40 years delivering Southern-fried sizzle without a personnel change.

With nearly 30 years between the performances, Double Down Live gives a fascinating insight into what has maintained the ZZ Top live phenomenon. This release follows the huge success of the Live From Texas Eagle releases of last year on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray. The DVD spent over a year on the charts, with 3 weeks at the #1 position.

BLAZE BAYLEY has issued the following tour blog update:

"It's just crazy. From the great gig at my second home of Z7 we drove back through France. I had a really bad cold and swollen glands at the three gigs but at Z7 it was the worst. In Paris I was so bad I had to miss the sound check and just try to stay quiet after the signing. At Z 7 I had got a lot of my strength back and managed the soundcheck ok. I was really worried about letting the fans down and not singing well, but with the support of my band and the staff at Z7, it went great. It was so good to see so many people from last year and so many old friends. Sorry I didn't get to spend more time with everyone. Next year we will see if we can keep the bar open late. Thanks everyone for the best last gig of a tour that I can remember.

The crazy part is getting home late Sunday/early Monday morning and then going into the studio to finish the new album Promise And Terror. After pleading with the factory Larry managed to get me three extra days to do the final mixing and mastering. So mastering is booked for next Monday and I spent this Monday and Tuesday with Dave and Nico and producer Jase Edwards doing the final touches to Promise And Terror. Small changes here and there to bring each song to life.

It gets more crazy here, because after the final mix was done, Jase and me went off to do a rehearsal. In January THE QUIREBOYS had asked Jase if WOLFSBANE would get back together to be special guests on their 20th anniversary Xmas tour of the UK. When Jase asked me about it I worked out when my last Blaze Bayley band gig was and I found I had time to do it. It's always a laugh when Wolfsbane get together and it was something that was very precious to Debbie so I was glad when I could say yes. Months later we are laughing at rehearsals, about the craziness of the situation. Jase is producing, engineering and mixing the new Blaze Bayley album, and it's probably the most complete and intense album I have ever been involved with, and then we are together with Jeff Hateley and Steve Danger playing some of the first songs we ever wrote. It's fun to revisit those old songs without all the emotions and angst we had back then.

Bristol Academy was the first gig last night. We were all a bit nervous coz the last proper Wolfsbane show was two years ago, in London , with THE WILDHEARTS. Since then we have only done one biker festival near Derby. The reaction we got when we went on was beautiful. Loads of Wolfsbane fans from years ago and fans that knew me from IRON MAIDEN and the Blaze Bayley band. Playing those old songs to people that probably knew them better than us was hilarious. For some brief moments I felt like we were all transported back in time and far away from the tedious details of our responsible adult lives and obligations, and for a few guilty moments we all indulged ourselves completely in a brash loud sexy nostalgia.

Thanks Quireboys for askin' us."

Upcoming Wolfsband/The Quireboys dates include:

December
11 - HMV Forum, London, UK
12 - JB's, Dudley, UK
17 - O2 Academy 2, Liverpool, UK
18 - Cathouse, Glasgow, UK
19 - O2 Academy 2, Sheffield, UK
20 - Academy, Newcastle, UK

Former Motley Crue lead vocalist and guitarist, John Corabi will take the stage at 2nd Avenue Live!, one of one of Nashville's newest music venues as he debuts his solo career to Nashville audiences Thursday night. Having just opened back in October, 2nd Avenue Live! is located at 154 2nd Avenue, just above Buffalo Billiards. Admission for John's show at 2nd Avenue Live! is $10. Doors open at 7 with John scheduled to begin his concert between 9 and 9:30. If you don't want to wait to get your tickets at the door and risk the show selling out, CLICK HERE to purchase them online.
If you're a into Heavy Metal, you are no doubt familiar with Corabi. Since his early days in local bands in the Los Angeles area, Corabi has been a fixture in the world of Heavy Metal. After playing the LA club circuit as a member of Angora and The Scream, John joined Motley Crue as lead vocalist and guitarist when Vince Neil left the group in 1992. He was with the group as the recorded their self titled 1994 album and the follow-up limited edition EP Quaternary.
When Neil returned to the group in 1997, Corabi moved on to join forces with Bruce Kulick, who had also recently left another super group, KISS. The two formed the group Union along with Brent Fitz and Jamie Hunting. After an initial release, John and Bruce joined forces with Karl Cochran and Eric Singer for EPS, which stood for Eric Singer Project. Several other bands and collaborations followed, including Twenty 4 Seven, Brides of Distruction, and Japanese tours with the reunited versions of both Union and ESP. In 2007, John joined RATT on tour and the following year, John even attended the Motley Cruise. While on-board, John made history by joining Vince Neil on stage as Motely Crue's most famous lead vocalist performed AC/DC's classic, Highway to Hell for the first time together. Having spent years as part of groups, seems it's now time for John to venture out as he fronts his latest venture.
Just yesterday, I had an opportunity to hit John up with a few questions about his musical influences, the life of a rock star, his new solo career and even Christmas. What follows are the very interesting results of that conversation.

A previous update from the band reads: "It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that due to circumstances beyond the bands control, SOLACE will NOT be performing at the Orange Goblin show at The Scala, London on Saturday, December 19th.

Boston's kings of rock, ROADSAW, will now be main support.

The bill also features CENTURIONS GHOST, SONS OF MERRICK, and we are very happy to announce the addition of HONKEYFINGER!!! People may be familiar with Mr. Honkeyfinger as he guested on the track 'Beginner's Guide To Suicide' on the last OG album Healing Through Fire! Honkeyfinger is the one man band from the bowels of the earth, erupting molten fuzz lapsteel, screaming harmonica riffs and desperate bestial howling in a scorching hot cocktail of heavy raw blues power. The Honkeyfinger sound hotwires the electric freak rock of vintage BEEFHEART, BLUE CHEER, ZZ TOP and BLACK SABBATH into a jumping, lurching monster. Boiling up the ghosts of BUKKA WHITE, LEADBELLY and JOHN LEE HOOKER with the bones of the country blues, laced with the acid fried heaviosity of the BUTTHOLE SURFERS - this is the thick stinking soup that Mr.Honkeyfinger serves. You can check out the Honkeyfinger sound at myspace.com/honkeyfinger.

Tickets for this show are selling out fast and numbers available on the door will be limited, so to avoid disappointment please purchase yours in advance at www.ticketweb.co.uk or via The Scala box office (020 7833 2022)."

Veteran California rockers Y&T have inked a deal with Italy's Frontiers Records for the release of the band's next studio album. The as-yet-untitled CD is tentatively due in May 2010.

The first two albums from Y&T recorded back in the 1970s under the YESTERDAY AND TODAY moniker are available on one CD titled "OneTwo". Both albums have been digitally remastered and put on a single CD. It contains seventeen tracks in total taken from the "Yesterday and Today" LP, originally released in 1976, and the "Struck Down" record, originally released in 1978.

In a year that the California rockers celebrate 35 years of rocking the world, this presents an interesting collection of songs that gives a peek into the beginnings of the band's versatile songwriting style, and serves as a bookmark of where it all started for Y&T.

After their blistering set at Hard Rock Hell III, long-running UK glam rockers TIGERTAILZ have announced their addition to the Hard Rock Hell Road Trip to Ibiza, set to take place on the dancing island between June 2nd and 9th, 2010.

Tailz frontman Kim Hooker says, "Well, the Hard Rock Hell set was the highlight of 2009 for us. We got into the spirit of the whole thing, it really wasn't that hard to be honest, and I think I'm not being too bold when I say the crowd got as much out of it as we did... Personally my favourite gig since we got back together."

Guitarist Jay Pepper continues, "After such an immense response at Hard Rock Hell for the second year running, it was an immediate yes from us as soon as we were invited on the road trip. All the bands that really got the vibe of that festival are all there and we're delighted to be involved. The Hard Rock Hell set up is mint - they listen to the people buying the tickets, and that's how it should be all the time... See you in Ibiza!"

Other bands confirmed include: THE QUIREBOYS, GUN, GIRLSCHOOL, GMT, MARSEILLE, SPIT LIKE THIS and 9XDEAD.

Also if you're creatively minded and ever so slightly twisted you may also want to download your favourite bits and edit some footage yourself - if we like it, we'll upload it!

We love this site, hope you do too. Drop by the message board and tell us what you think...

IT'S FILTHY, LOUD AND FREE...IT'S TAILZ TV!!!!"

Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, whose critically acclaimed, self-titled album debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart earlier this summer, are headed out on the road once again.

Fresh off a summer trek as one of the main-stage attractions of the second annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will take the show on the road for a headline trek across the U.S., which is their first for this album. The tour will begin on February 4 in their home state of Massachusetts and will cover significant ground across the country for seven weeks. To keep things interesting, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have elected to play smaller venues in a handful of cities in order to create a more intimate setting for their fans.

Joining KILLSWITCH as main support will be Dayton, Ohio's THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, who released their latest album "With Roots Above and Branches Below" via Ferret Music back in May 2009 and immediately followed with a hugely successful stint on last summer's Warped Tour, resulting in a fanbase that has since grown exponentially. Also joining KILLSWITCH on this run will be highly influential metal act DARK TRANQUILLITY, who hail from Gothenburg, Sweden. DARK TRANQUILITY are set to release their new album, "We Are the Void", through Century Media in March 2010.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam D. weighed in on the tour, saying, "We are stoked to come back to the U.S. and shred with THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and DARK TRANQUILLITY. Southern California's female-fronted rock act IN THIS MOMENT is preparing to enter the studio to begin recording the follow-up to last year's "The Dream". Guitarist Chris Howorth states, "We have been working on new music since Warped Tour ended. Maria Brink (vocals) and I have been bashing our heads together non-stop trying to come up with the best possible songs and the best combination of melody and aggression as we want the new album to be even bigger and better than anything else we've done before. We want all the melody and depth of 'The Dream' along with some of the darkness and aggression of 'Beautiful Tragedy'. We feel really good about what we have demoed so far and will be working non-stop through the holidays."

He continues, "The plan is to enter the studio with Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH) in mid-February.

"We are really excited to be working with Kevin again; he is such an amazing talent and knowing he will be involved just makes us even more confident in our ability to make the next record better than anything prior.

"We are planning to have the record done in time for a summer 2010 release date to coincide with big juicy summer festival tour. We could tell you what tour it was, but then we would have to kill you."

IN THIS MOMENT's sophomore album, "The Dream", sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 70 on The Billboard 200 chart.

IN THIS MOMENT video for the new single "Forever" can be viewed below. The clip was directed and shot in Los Angeles, California by David Brodsky (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, OPIATE FOR THE MASSES) of MyGoodEye.

"Forever" was the first single off "The Dream", which was released on September 30, 2008 via Century Media Records.

IN THIS MOMENT is represented by Mercenary Management, which is headed up by OZZY OSBOURNE/ex-ROB ZOMBIE bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson.

Benjy Eisen of Spinner.com recently conducted an interview with SMASHING PUMPKINS mainman Billy Corgan. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Spinner.com: Why are you releasing the 44 songs of "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope" for free?

Corgan: I've never been comfortable with the idea that you work for a couple of years just to come up with a pile of 12 songs and that becomes the album. What I like about the idea of recording the songs one at a time is I'm always in the moment with the song. I'm hoping it will raise the quality of the songs that I release so that every song is important to me. Hopefully the audience will feel that way too.

It's going to take a while for the record business to find its new bearings. In the meantime, it keeps acting like it's the old record business, which I think really works against the artistic aspect of putting out music. I thought I would walk around all of that, make the songs available for free and I figured out a way that I could feel invested. I figure it's going to take three years and I'm always putting out something I feel excited about, and then I'm also getting some level of feedback from the audience about what they're actually connecting with.

Spinner.com: Do you regret breaking up SMASHING PUMPKINS in 2000?

Corgan: Breaking up the band was a mistake because I think it broke trust with the audience. You had an audience that was very invested in that idea — whether they were invested in the people or the idea or the songs, I don't know. Like a relationship that you break off from and then try to pick back up, it's never quite the same. It doesn't mean it can't be as good, but it has to be different. That beautiful original feeling got lost in the interim of being away. If we had said, "We just went away for seven years," it would have been similar, but somehow breaking up, there's a violence to it.

Spinner.com: Many fans said things like, "You reformed SMASHING PUMPKINS but really it's just in name." Do you think that's a valid criticism?

Corgan: Anything is a fair criticism. The question I would ask is, "Do I have the right to do it?" Based upon what I've seen since reforming the band, I do have the right. If I felt I didn't, I would sit here honestly and say, "Nah, I probably should've just left it alone." I've been making music with the intention of connecting with an audience for 20 years now, so at the end of the day I have to be accountable to me in that way. I can't not do what I believe in because somebody else doesn't feel the same way I do about it

WINDS OF PLAGUE continue their extensive worldwide touring schedule in support of The Great Stone War in 2010 with another headliner dubbed the Never Say Die! Tour.

This massive, month-long trek, which kicks off on January 23rd, also features labelmates DESPISED ICON alongside FOR TODAY, STRAY FROM THE PATH and THE WORLD WE KNEW.

Visit www.myspace.com/windsofplague to view their complete touring itinerary.

Johnny (vocals) further states: "We have just passed the halfway mark on The California Love tour and already the tour has proven to be a massive success, as well as a very memorable moment in Winds Of Plague history. This has been our first sole headliner, which is nerve racking in itself, but the WOP Soldiers have been strong in numbers and have been some of the most insane shows we have played to date. It's been awesome to get back into some smaller clubs that we have played while we were coming up and re-visit our roots. This tour also marks the debut of keyboardist Alana Potocnik to the band. Alana's positive attitude and hungry work ethic is a breath of fresh air, with her talent and creative writing abilities new material will be nothing short of epic. With our return to Southern California for the December Decimation Fest still on the horizon, The California Love tour will go down in our history as some of the best times of our lives and we
thank our fans for making it all possible.

We look forward to taking some time off for the holidays and then 2010 is the year of WOP. It all starts with another headliner as we prepare for the Never Say Die! Tour in January with the mighty Despised Icon, For Today and Stray From The Path. We promise you it will be a night to remember, so check out our MySpace page and be sure to come out, get sweaty and party your ass off. See you all soon."

Alex Erian (Despised Icon vocalist) follows: "We've played some of our favourite shows ever on the last two Never Say Die tours in Europe and are stoked to be part of its first annual US edition. We haven't toured with Winds Of Plague in over 2 years already. It'll be good to hang out and rock out with those dudes again! Can't wait to be back in the U.S. See you guys soon!"

Marco Walzel of Avocado Booking comments: "We really wanted to create an exciting tour package; that is why we created and developed the Never Say Die brand. We wanted a tour that could feature the most diverse and powerful bands from all over the world under one banner. Its focus has always been about the music, the bands and the lifestyle that comes hand in hand with the more aggressive side of the punk rock and metal spectrum. It's never sought to lose touch with its core audience and we've always strived to give great value for money to some of the most mind blowing packages that we could possibly put together. It's been a big success for us, growing and growing in Europe over the past few years and we're really excited at where NSD is heading, with the new year giving way to its first overseas appearance in the USA."

Knoxville, Tennessee's 10 YEARS has issued the following update:

"Well, I know alot of you are wondering what the hell we are doing and why we aren't touring and etc.

"Well, we are finally done writing new material for our upcoming third album and we are going into the studio to record it in January.

"These are exciting times for us because we finally feel like we are firing on all cylinders and this is the music we should have written along time ago. We couldn't be any prouder of the music we have created and the support and patience of you the fans to give us the time to create something special to give back to you.

"Our philosophy has always been that the music comes first, and we always told ourselves that we would never rush a record just to get it out. We would never put our names on something that we couldn't competely stand behind.

"The recording process should wrap up around mid-Febuary and then we will be on tour very soon after that. We plan on touring across the globe many many times on this album so you can count on us being in your town in the near future wherever you may be. Also be on the lookout for a single to hit the airwaves in March and a spring release for the album."

10 YEARS's sophomore effort, "Division", was released in May 2008. The group spent over a year writing and recording the follow-up to its 2005 debut, "The Autumn Effect", scrapping some initial work with one producer and starting over with another.

10 YEARS ultimately recorded the album with producer Rick Parashar, who worked on PEARL JAM 's classic 1991 debut, "Ten".

One tune on "Division", titled "Focus", was co-written with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and ARMY OF ANYONE guitarist Dean DeLeo.

The video for the album's first single, "Beautiful " (see below), took a satirical look at what a press release called "the lengths the paparazzi and celebrities go through to notice each other in the current 'Gotcha!' game of celebrity journalism."
